Harold's BBQ Cracklin' Cornbread Recipe!!!!

Sunday's AJC had this recipe and what a recipe it is!  Those of us us who have scarfed down tons of this cornbread in our many visits to this icon of Atlanta BBQ down near the Federal Prison, know what a treat this cornbread is to all of us.  This is one of the greatest cornbreads in the world and arguably one of the worst for your heart... who cares....

Hummingbird Cake

This not only one of my favorite cakes, but a true Southern favorite.  Very rich and sweet, this is one fine cake.  Great for carrying to a family reunion or potluck dinner.  This version came from the Food Network magazine, but is a variation of many old southern recipes.

Dear Abby's Pecan Pie

If you like Pecan Pie, you will love this simple but very good version of this Southern staple.  The origin or the recipe comes from Dear Abby's mother, Paula Phillips who talked the pastry chef at the now defunct Phoenix Hotel in Louisville, KY, out of the recipe many years ago.

Firecracker Chicken

If you like very spicy Chinese chicken dishes, I found one of the best! I believe this recipe came from Martin Yan (at least it looks very much like one of his...).  Using three types of  peppers this spicy jewel will have you coming back for more.  I don't remember where I found it, but here it is under International, Chinese recipes.

Brunswick Stew

I found it! Several years ago I was watching TV on Saturday afternoon and came across a BBQ show. They were talking to a nice lady about her Brunswick Stew recipe. As she started making her stew I became more and more interested. This looked like a great Brunswick Stew recipe, nice and thick! I jotted down her recipe, what it was of a recipe, and made her version just as she did. WOW! This was the best stew I had ever had in any restaurant or tried myself. It was so thick you could stand a spoon up in the middle! So I filed it away and have never found it again... until now! You can find it under Main Courses.
